Turning Kilometers Into Meters with Cisco TelePresence

What’s the distance between Budapest, Hungary and Podgorica in Montenegro?

Well, in reality, it’s approximately 674 kilometers, or 419 miles. However, if you happen to work at Magyar Telekom in Budapest, that distance becomes merely 20 meters. How is that possible? Cisco TelePresence, of course.

Earlier this year, we announced that Magyar Telekom has implemented Cisco TelePresence virtual meeting rooms to connect its head office in Hungary with the company’s southeast European subsidiaries, Makedonski Telekom (Macedonia) and Crnogorski Telekom (Montenegro).

In the meantime, the company has several other TelePresence rooms deployed. So, if you walk into Magyar Telekom’s headquarters, this is what you will see:

Cisco Networkers in Australia kicks off tomorrow

Cisco Networkers in Brisbane, Australia kicks off tomorrow, when we will welcome customers and partners to our host venue, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Networkers is celebrating its 15th year in Australia this year and in those years it has really cemented itself as Australia’s premier networking industry event.

This years’ theme is Knowledge is Power, so there will be a strong focus on industry developments and innovations. Innovation is the particular specialty of our keynote speaker, who I am very excited to introduce… Guido Jouret.

Guido Jouret is the Chief Technology Officer of Cisco’s Emerging Technologies Group, which is responsible for incubating Cisco’s future billion-dollar businesses.   During his keynote Guido will be sharing with us some exciting developments on how our society will benefit from the innovation and new technologies they are working on over at headquarters.
